In the 4th minute, Harold Rambaud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Marin's Thibault Delgrange got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 15th match minute, sedan ardennes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kilian Noë to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the game, sedan ardennes's Lucien Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Ferrie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sylvain Couve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Ferrie having to interfere. Jimmy Ferrie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sylvain Couve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernard Roguet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexis Lalouette having to interfere. Malcom Marchadier might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexis Lalouette. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Malcom Marchadier ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute, Bernard Roguet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexis Lalouette was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. When Sylvain Couve came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the sedan ardennes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sylvain Couve couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Sylvain Couve had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimmy Ferrie. Marin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sylvain Couve was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. A collision led to Marin getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jean-Christophe Claveau hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucien Lopes was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Lucien Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. sedan ardennes's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucien Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimmy Ferrie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 73rd play minute Sylvain Couve came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jimmy Ferrie. 1-4. Jimmy Ferrie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucien Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The sedan ardennes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
