The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when 楚夕文 put in a rough tackle. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Misérieux 18. Clovis Salle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mário Anjos. 1-1. Pierre Livet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Graff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 played minutes Misérieux 18 got a freekick which was hit by Clovis Salle. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Gougeon got free with Pierre Livet in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Misérieux 18's zone, Jim Graff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre Livet came out of the goal and Jim Graff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pierre Livet made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Sébastian Giudicelli sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Sporting Clube De Braga booed when Misérieux 18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyril Guigou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre Livet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Zilles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 37 minutes, Sébastian Giudicelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Clube De Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sébastian Giudicelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pierre Livet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sébastian Giudicelli in the 40th minute. A collision led to Sporting Clube De Braga getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jim Graff hit a great ball. Sébastian Giudicelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Livet having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jim Graff was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Sébastian Giudicelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Livet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pierre Livet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sébastian Giudicelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Misérieux 18's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Graff came free, but Pierre Livet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sébastian Giudicelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pierre Barreau fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Misérieux 18's protests and gave Pierre Barreau a yellow card for diving instead. 77 minutes into the match, Jim Graff notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Misérieux 18's Pierre Livet. Pierre Livet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Misérieux 18 defense, Sébastian Giudicelli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pierre Livet. The Misérieux 18 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pierre Livet should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Sporting Clube De Braga booed when Misérieux 18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clovis Salle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute, Roland Gougeon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sébastian Giudicelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pierre Livet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sébastian Giudicelli ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sporting Clube De Braga fully deserved thier win.
