The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Julien Loreau had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hamid Coin. Bioge's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julien Loreau was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Merlin Prieur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th match minute, cruz azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evan Parant to maneuver through the defense. Hamid Coin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julien Loreau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeo Aguilar during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of cruz azul:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bioge:s goal. Rudy Desveaux shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The Bioge fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Bioge's Lilian Millot looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 31st minute Lilian Millot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timothy Juncker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merlin Prieur might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hamid Coin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Merlin Prieur ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute, Julien Loreau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Merlin Prieur struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Hamid Coin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for cruz azul. Lilian Millot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Juncker having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julien Loreau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evan Parant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in cruz azul's zone, Allan Munoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timothy Juncker came out of the goal and Allan Munoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Bioge getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Fabrice Caillard hit a great ball. After 71 played minutes Bioge got a freekick which was hit by Allan Thiery. 79 minutes into the game, Julien Loreau recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hamid Coin. Julien Loreau showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Julien Loreau received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hamid Coin came out and tried to block the shot, but Julien Loreau slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 84th minute. Hamid Coin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Merlin Prieur in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute, Allan Thiery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allan Munoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Juncker having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Munoz in the 98th minute of play forced cruz azul's goalkeeper Timothy Juncker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The cruz azul players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
