Dominique Mathelin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dominique Mathelin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rudy Delhomme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joe Riffard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eymeric Bouvier was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Vincent Reverdy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vincent Reverdy really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Dominique Mathelin fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 38th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. When Tim Barrot came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Sergy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim Barrot couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Dominique Mathelin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sergy's supporters rose to their feet, but Dominique Mathelin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudy Delhomme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Meylan booed when Sergy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kylian Guezennec didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Joe Riffard made the kick off in the second half. Eymeric Bouvier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Reverdy, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Reverdy in the 56th minute of play forced Sergy's goalkeeper Eymeric Bouvier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Joe Riffard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meylan and the Sergy players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Meylan got a freekick which was hit by Joe Riffard. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tim Barrot got free with Rudy Delhomme in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dominique Mathelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudy Delhomme having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Dominique Mathelin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sergy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominique Mathelin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
