Christian Boule breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Boris Griveau notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Montpel's Lilian Walter. Lilian Walter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Christian Boule made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean-Philippe Girod in the 20th minute. Christian Boule showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugene Bourgeat in the 21st minute of the match. In the 40th minute Eugene Bourgeat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Boule saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Luis Cordier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugene Bourgeat to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Montpel's goalkeeper Lilian Walter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tristan Trognon. Montpel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean-Philippe Girod was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Boule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Philippe Girod, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean-Philippe Girod fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Boule having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thil's goalkeeper Christian Boule, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute of the match Montpel got a corner. Thil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gilles Messaoudi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thil's Boris Griveau got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Philippe Girod received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Christian Boule tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Philippe Girod in the 98th minute of play forced Thil's goalkeeper Christian Boule to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Although Montpel had been in control for most of the match, Thil still came away with the win.
