Tony Badie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 8 played minutes AS Nancy Lorraine got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Cristea. Chocques's Tony Badie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Roullet in the 12th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Astie during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th minute, Steve Astie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maxime Magnard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Badie having to interfere. With a little luck, Chocques's Tony Badie got control of the ball when Willy Viault tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tony Badie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willy Viault in the 21st minute. Maxime Magnard's late challenge caught a Chocques's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maxime Magnard helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to AS Nancy Lorraine getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Maxime Magnard hit a great ball. Gabin Poidevin didn't quite understand what happened when in the 31 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Willy Viault received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Tony Badie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc-Antoine Lorente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernand Faes in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Marc Roullet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AS Nancy Lorraine fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernand Faes to make the kick off. Chocques's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS Nancy Lorraine the free kick. The supporters of AS Nancy Lorraine booed when Chocques was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabin Poidevin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marc Roullet in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Badie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th match minute, Chocques was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernand Faes to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Maxime Magnard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Badie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willy Viault, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Chocques succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though AS Nancy Lorraine had controlled the match.
