After 10 played minutes Meynac got a freekick which was hit by Thibault Omnes. Gameiro Saez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jess Stradel, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Gameiro Saez made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Jess Stradel sent off a good shot on target. If Gilbert Piguet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Jess Stradel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gameiro Saez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nolan Vernay fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meynac's protests and gave Nolan Vernay a yellow card for diving instead. Denain's Jean-Michel Lasne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Théophile Bessard in the 46th minute of play. A hard shot 47 in the game by Jess Stradel from a close distance when the talented Gameiro Saez managed to make a qualified save. Meynac's players were relieved. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Fred Bosse's late challenge caught a Meynac's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fred Bosse helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes Denain got a freekick which was hit by Fred Bosse. Jean-Michel Lasne was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Johnny Maunoury. Denain's Jean-Michel Lasne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Denain from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the match, Meynac's goal looked a bit too open when Jess Stradel came free, but Gameiro Saez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Piguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexis Cojean got free with Jean-Michel Lasne in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jess Stradel in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gameiro Saez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jess Stradel in the 74th minute of play forced Meynac's goalkeeper Gameiro Saez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Meynac's zone, Jess Stradel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gameiro Saez came out of the goal and Jess Stradel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Meynac's Gameiro Saez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jess Stradel in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Ben Muller was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meynac's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denain the free kick. After 85 played minutes Meynac got a freekick which was hit by Ben Muller. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Leonard Vâlcu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denain's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Vâlcu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gameiro Saez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jess Stradel came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Denain fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jess Stradel couldn't finish the play.
