The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 28thth minute of the game Yann Thierry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shelby FC's Jean-Paul Loir was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yann Thierry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romain Loustalot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Colombet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yann Thierry was the one to do the kick off. Shelby FC's Raymond Colombet got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, F.C.G.B was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Daix to maneuver through the defense. Raymond Colombet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romain Loustalot having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Yann Thierry took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Jean-Paul Loir to make any attempt to save it. Jean-Sébastien Cazeaux struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Jean-Paul Loir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C.G.B. After 84 minutes of play, F.C.G.B's Jean-Sébastien Cazeaux made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Paul Loir was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jean-Sébastien Cazeaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jean-Paul Loir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Paul Loir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yann Thierry's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched F.C.G.B eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
