Spectators: 7821 (Terracing: 5986, Seating: 1835, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Grégory Pille kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, OUS Cognac's Joachim Favreau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gage Keng narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Nancy's Nathanaël Gracia got a free kick in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Nancy's zone, Joachim Favreau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gage Keng came out of the goal and Joachim Favreau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Grégory Pille shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul-Émile Gendrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute of the game Ghislain Milhau made a throw-in which Nathanaël Gracia played forward. After some careless play in the OUS Cognac defense, Grégory Pille kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul-Émile Gendrot. The OUS Cognac fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul-Émile Gendrot should have stopped the shot. Joachim Favreau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd match minute, Nancy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ghislain Milhau to maneuver through the defense. Paul-Émile Gendrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grégory Pille, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, OUS Cognac's goal looked a bit too open when Grégory Pille came free, but Paul-Émile Gendrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joachim Favreau to make the kick off. Paul-Émile Gendrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathanaël Gracia in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Joachim Favreau reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gage Keng. The goal made the score 1-1. Paul-Émile Gendrot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grégory Pille went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Favreau in the 73rd minute of play forced Nancy's goalkeeper Gage Keng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Nancy booed when OUS Cognac was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Favreau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gage Keng was a little too slow when Joachim Favreau got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 2-2. If Nathanaël Gracia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
