Billy Vautier struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Roman Chassang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorbiers 1908 F.C.. Franklin Schreiber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samy Dartiguelongue in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Billy Vautier in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Chassang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Jule came free, but Franklin Schreiber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franklin Schreiber came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Stade de Reims's Bruno Jule. But to his dismay, Bruno Jule quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Franklin Schreiber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Jule in the 29th minute of play. When Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Billy Vautier in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Charlie Scheer got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 40 played minutes Sorbiers 1908 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Billy Vautier. The Sorbiers 1908 F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Stade de Reims were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Billy Vautier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Franklin Schreiber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malik Coquelet in the 51st minute of play. Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Franklin Schreiber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Jule in the 52nd minute of play. Franklin Châtellier took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roman Chassang. Roman Chassang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Franklin Schreiber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Jule in the 59th minute of play. Roman Chassang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franklin Châtellier, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Billy Vautier in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aziz Sénéchal got free with Franklin Schreiber in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute Bruno Jule shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Schreiber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80thth minute of the game Billy Vautier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stade de Reims's Roman Chassang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Sorbiers 1908 F.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ibrahim Riche hit a great ball. Roman Chassang didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franklin Châtellier went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s zone, Malik Coquelet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Schreiber came out of the goal and Malik Coquelet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stade de Reims's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
