Spectators: 8023 (Terracing: 6019, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. César Tourneux started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute René Argentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lala Lala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. César Tourneux recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jean-Paul Coroller took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lala Lala. Lala Lala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 17th minute César Tourneux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul-Émile Mathelin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. César Tourneuxs short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Paul-Émile Mathelin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Ilan Friedmann fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's protests and gave Ilan Friedmann a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to OLD PUNX NEVER DIE getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ilan Friedmann hit a great ball. Lala Lala came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Stade Rennais's Gameiro Leman. But to his dismay, Gameiro Leman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Stade Rennais booed when OLD PUNX NEVER DIE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thibault Amy didn't get a good kick on the ball. César Tourneux recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Stade Rennais's René Argentin got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes, OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's Gérald Salvador shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paul-Émile Mathelin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in OLD PUNX NEVER DIE reached it. Lala Lala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Félicien Gibon, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute, Gérald Salvador hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Tourneux's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paul-Émile Mathelin firmly grabbed it by the left post. Paul-Émile Mathelin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Tourneux's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the game, Gameiro Leman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Lala Lala was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean-Paul Coroller was the one to do the kick off. Lala Lala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from René Argentin in the 55th minute of the match. OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's Lala Lala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save OLD PUNX NEVER DIE from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Félicien Gibon in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's Gérald Salvador. In the 59thth minute of the game César Tourneux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stade Rennais's Paul-Émile Mathelin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 60th minute, Thibault Amy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul-Émile Mathelin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Tourneux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paul-Émile Mathelin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Tourneux, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Thibault Amy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute, René Argentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Paul Coroller came free, but Lala Lala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. René Argentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Lala Lala made a huge save. Roger Brégeon's late challenge caught a OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Brégeon helped the player get up and apologised. Roger Brégeon hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Stade Rennais defense, Thibault Amy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul-Émile Mathelin. The Stade Rennais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul-Émile Mathelin should have stopped the shot. If César Tourneux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Yazid Saint-Paul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Gérald Salvador in the 83rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Paul-Émile Mathelin's left hand side. In the 85th minute of the match, René Argentin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lala Lala saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lala Lala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from René Argentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Zinedine Blonde was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stade Rennais the free kick. A collision led to Stade Rennais getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Bérenger Duchâteau hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Stade Rennais's goal looked a bit too open when César Tourneux came free, but Paul-Émile Mathelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When OLD PUNX NEVER DIE's César Tourneux in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stade Rennais's goalie prevented a goal. The Stade Rennais supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stade Rennais would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
