The Bob Mouchet was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 20 minutes, Sylvain Maître mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Star F.C. and the Sorbiers 1908 F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sylvain Maître hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Bob Mouchet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Gourlay in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Sorbiers 1908 F.C. getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Franklin Châtellier hit a great ball. In the 35th minute Boris Gourlay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Mouchet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Red Star F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bob Mouchet should have stopped the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Ratinaud was the one to do the kick off. Xavier Delarbre hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Franklin Schreiber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Ratinaud in the 54th minute of play. Patrick Ratinaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Franklin Schreiber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Red Star F.C.'s Bob Mouchet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Gourlay in the 67th minute of play. A collision led to Sorbiers 1908 F.C. getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Charlie Scheer hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s Bob Mouchet threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boris Gourlay, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Sorbiers 1908 F.C. booed when Red Star F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Ratinaud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Noa Thevenot charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noa Thevenot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 87 minutes, Franklin Châtellier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorbiers 1908 F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Châtellier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
