Daryl Jonquet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ryan Giry's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Prosper Gillard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Ferrière in the 14th minute of the match. RdU 1949 FC's Mourad Bonin got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. US Montélimar's Daryl Jonquet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Giry in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Marius Reinert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mourad Bonin struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Daryl Jonquet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RdU 1949 FC. In the 27th match minute, US Montélimar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Hurel to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryan Giry in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daryl Jonquet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the game, Marius Reinert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. US Montélimar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RdU 1949 FC the free kick. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Noël Bessou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. US Montélimar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RdU 1949 FC the free kick. Noël Bessou hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes of play, RdU 1949 FC's Mourad Bonin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daryl Jonquet was left in no man's land by his defense there! The US Montélimar players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. RdU 1949 FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Noé Derville to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, RdU 1949 FC's Ryan Giry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daryl Jonquet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Prosper Gillard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Dufrene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mourad Bonin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daryl Jonquet having to interfere. After a rather tough play, RdU 1949 FC's Dave Vasselin got a free kick in the 70th minute. Prosper Gillard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noé Derville, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ryan Giry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, Ryan Giry was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RdU 1949 FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave US Montélimar the free kick. The supporters of US Montélimar booed when RdU 1949 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Giry didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for RdU 1949 FC! Prosper Gillard had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Noé Derville's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 89th minute Robert Ferrière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prosper Gillard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, RdU 1949 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noé Derville came free, but Prosper Gillard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over RdU 1949 FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than US Montélimar throughout the match.
