With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Saux prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Irakliy Kurennov took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnny Saux. Johnny Saux dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Johnny Saux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hervé Chauve in the 22nd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Red Star F.C.'s Mohamed Luciani threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bob Mouchet, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 24 minutes, Lenny Soula mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nantes FC and the Red Star F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lenny Soula kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Édouard Forissier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Red Star F.C.'s André Merot got a free kick in the 27th minute. Bob Mouchet hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Irakliy Kurennov in the 49th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bob Mouchet to make the kick off. After 57 played minutes Nantes FC got a freekick which was hit by Evan Diguet. Irakliy Kurennov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Johnny Saux came out and tried to block the shot, but Irakliy Kurennov slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 63rd minute. After 67 minutes, Patrick Ratinaud mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Star F.C. and the Nantes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Red Star F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nantes FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Johnny Saux, was totally fooled by Nantes FC's Lenny Soula, who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Nantes FC's Hassan Delestre slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnny Saux. That made the score 0-9 after 73 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nantes FC's zone, Bob Mouchet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohamed Luciani came out of the goal and Bob Mouchet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Red Star F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Philibert Geneau came free, but Johnny Saux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Hassan Delestre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnny Saux was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. Hervé Chauve kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 88 minutes of play, Nantes FC's Philibert Geneau made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johnny Saux was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 91st minute, Nantes FC's Hassan Delestre ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Johnny Saux. Johnny Saux yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. Nantes FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
