Pierre Casagrande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugues Tison in the 17th minute. Hugues Tison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Pierre Casagrande made a huge save. Pierre Casagrande made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Hugues Tison sent off a good shot on target. Pierre Casagrande had in the 36thth minute some difficulties stopping Hugues Tison's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Hugues Tison received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pierre Casagrande came out and tried to block the shot, but Hugues Tison slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 36th minute. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Hugues Tison took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Pierre Casagrande to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugues Tison to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nik Tamer in the 56th minute of play forced Belberaud's goalkeeper Pierre Casagrande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierre Casagrande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugues Tison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugues Tison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Pierre Casagrande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Casagrande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Munhoz in the 62nd minute of the match. Aldo Ferrario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierre Casagrande read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Belberaud's zone, Hugues Tison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre Casagrande came out of the goal and Hugues Tison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugues Tison in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierre Casagrande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ali Bouisset kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Pierre Casagrande didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugues Tison went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Hugues Tison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Strasbourg ★ Union RC made a substitution. Christian Fromage replaced Nik Tamer. After a rather tough play, Belberaud's Salim Guerry got a free kick in the 91st minute. When Christian Fromage came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Strasbourg ★ Union RC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Fromage couldn't finish the play. Hugues Tison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Belberaud's goal looked a bit too open when Hugues Tison came free, but Pierre Casagrande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Strasbourg ★ Union RC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
