But to his dismay, Yves Arnal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Mohamed Ruelle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prosper Galais, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Josselin Rautureau kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Ahmed Barbin hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mohamed Ruelle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmed Barbin in the 42nd minute of play forced AS Saint-Étienne's goalkeeper Sofyane Canova to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Carcot's goalkeeper Mohamed Ruelle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yves Arnal. AS Saint-Étienne's Prosper Galais pulled a muscle in his leg after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yves Arnal was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes, Félicien Simard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carcot and the AS Saint-Étienne players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carcot's Félicien Simard got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Yves Arnal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AS Saint-Étienne fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 59 minutes, Ahmed Barbin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carcot and the AS Saint-Étienne players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Carcot got a freekick which was hit by Ahmed Barbin. A collision led to AS Saint-Étienne getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Guillaume Bové hit a great ball. If Ahmed Barbin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carcot's Félicien Simard got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Félicien Simard off the ground. Sofyane Canova showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmed Barbin in the 78th minute of the match. Carcot's Mohamed Ruelle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Arnal in the 79th minute of play. Sébastian Dabin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sofyane Canova was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Ahmed Barbin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ahmed Barbin really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. 93 minutes into the match, Carcot's goal looked a bit too open when Yves Arnal came free, but Mohamed Ruelle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aziz Cailly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The AS Saint-Étienne players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
