Jean-Philippe Rouanet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alou Bonjean having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Bérenger Trognon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alou Bonjean. Sochaux's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bérenger Trognon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alou Bonjean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Philippe Rouanet in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Philippe Rouanet in the 20th minute of play forced Sochaux's goalkeeper Alou Bonjean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bérenger Trognon scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alou Bonjean, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alou Bonjean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bérenger Trognon, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Alou Bonjean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Philippe Rouanet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Bérenger Trognon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Alou Bonjean was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute Serge Queinnec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alou Bonjean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Seilh's Karl Laurain got control of the ball when Jean-Yves Doisy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karl Laurain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jean-Yves Doisy in the 37th minute. Alou Bonjean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serge Queinnec in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Seilh's Jean-Philippe Rouanet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alou Bonjean made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Serge Queinnec took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alou Bonjean. Alou Bonjean dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jean-Philippe Rouanet to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sochaux getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Théophile Le Roy hit a great ball. Sochaux's Alou Bonjean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bacary Drouault in the 56th minute of play. Karl Laurain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Yves Doisy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl Laurain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Yves Doisy in the 58th minute of the match. When Hocine Chazal came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sochaux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hocine Chazal couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the game, Olivier Vicente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seilh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sochaux the free kick. After a rather tough play, Seilh's Olivier Vicente got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Hocine Chazal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Karl Laurain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Bacary Drouault reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alou Bonjean. The goal made the score 0-6. Jean-Philippe Rouanet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute of the match, Bérenger Trognon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alou Bonjean was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jean-Yves Doisy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Karl Laurain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Théophile Le Roy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Karl Laurain. Seilh's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, John-David Guillain was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sochaux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seilh the free kick. John-David Guillain kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Hocine Chazal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sochaux fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. When the final whistle sounded Seilh left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sochaux.
