Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rachid Nicollet got the match started through his kick off. André Couret could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Victor Claisse made a huge save. After 6th play minutes Bob Esther shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Karl Laidet and just under the crossbar into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Rachid Nicollet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meurchin's supporters rose to their feet, but Rachid Nicollet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Claisse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 10 minutes into the match, Rachid Nicollet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Victor Claisse, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rachid Nicollet in the 13th minute of play forced Paris Saint Germain's goalkeeper Victor Claisse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Meurchin! Karl Laidet went to the wrong direction when Gwendal Haller was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Gabriel Lhôte fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meurchin's protests and gave Gabriel Lhôte a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Meurchin got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Lhôte. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rachid Nicollet in the 25th minute of play forced Paris Saint Germain's goalkeeper Victor Claisse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Paris Saint Germain's Edgard Berger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl Laidet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Karl Laidet came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Paris Saint Germain's Bob Esther. But to his dismay, Bob Esther quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Joris Versini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Laidet having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joris Versini in the 44th minute of play forced Meurchin's goalkeeper Karl Laidet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paris Saint Germain were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Meurchin's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gwendal Haller took the corner. The corner led Paris Saint Germain's Gwendal Haller to fire away a dangerous shot which Karl Laidet despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Meurchin players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Paris Saint Germain were winning 1-2.

Léon Beaussart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Laidet having to interfere. Joris Versini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Joris Versini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Meurchin getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Claude Theret hit a great ball. Karl Laidet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Boris Munsch's late challenge caught a Paris Saint Germain's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boris Munsch helped the player get up and apologised. Bob Esthers short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Karl Laidet to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Meurchin's Claude Theret got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Joris Versini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Léon Beaussart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rachid Nicollet scored 2-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Claisse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 89 in the game by Bob Esther from a close distance when the talented Karl Laidet managed to make a qualified save. Meurchin's players were relieved. When Mike Foulonneau fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meurchin's protests and gave Mike Foulonneau a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th match minute, Meurchin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Foulonneau to maneuver through the defense. When Joris Versini came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Paris Saint Germain fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joris Versini couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Paris Saint Germain players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
