Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Joël Rétière notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lions de Châteauroux's Reynaldo Gomes. Reynaldo Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reynaldo Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Toupin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Lions de Châteauroux's Reynaldo Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Toupin in the 13th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Isaac Vermudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Lions de Châteauroux's goal looked a bit too open when Titouan Levet came free, but Reynaldo Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helmut Lossimäe made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Marcelo Ramos sent off a good shot on target. Dário Passos hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of Fc Kertzfeld booed when Lions de Châteauroux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Vermudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Fc Kertzfeld's Joël Rétière made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Gomes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute Joël Rétière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Joël Rétière's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Gomes was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. After 42 minutes, Bob Chassard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lions de Châteauroux and the Fc Kertzfeld players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lions de Châteauroux's Bob Chassard got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute Joël Rétière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Joël Rétière made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Joël Rétière took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Reynaldo Gomes to make any attempt to save it. Joël Rétière charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joël Rétière the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes Fc Kertzfeld got a freekick which was hit by Joël Rétière. If Gaston Toupin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lions de Châteauroux's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Titouan Levet scored to the left of an out of position Reynaldo Gomes, making the score, 0-5. Joël Rétière received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Reynaldo Gomes came out and tried to block the shot, but Joël Rétière slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 66th minute. Fc Kertzfeld's Wesley Donato was substituted for Joël Rétière. Wesley Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reynaldo Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Donato in the 81st minute of the match. Reynaldo Gomes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wesley Donato in the 82nd minute. Wesley Donato struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Reynaldo Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Kertzfeld. Fc Kertzfeld made a substitution. Chris Laurence replaced Faustin Rouquie. Pastor Cambranes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. Helmut Lossimäe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lech Gotfryd in the 96th minute of play. The Lions de Châteauroux fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Fc Kertzfeld were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
