Youri Richou who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Martial Celton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Reynaldo Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jérémie Baudry, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Youri Richou in the 8th minute of play forced GENY's goalkeeper Martial Celton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Youri Richou in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martial Celton saved GENY from getting behind. With a little luck, GENY's Martial Celton got control of the ball when Youri Richou tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denis Giurăscu shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Jérémie Baudry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in GENY's zone, Marcelo Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martial Celton came out of the goal and Marcelo Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lions de Châteauroux's Youri Richou got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquim Massy hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Youri Richou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martial Celton. GENY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Youri Richou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 43rd minute Youri Richou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martial Celton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in GENY's zone, Bob Chassard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martial Celton came out of the goal and Bob Chassard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelo Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Martial Celton made a huge save. Lions de Châteauroux's Isaac Vermudo pulled a muscle in his leg after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 48th minute, Joaquim Massy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Ramos to strike the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jérémie Baudry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob Chassard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 58 minutes, Bob Chassard made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. GENY's Martial Celton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 62 minutes into the match, GENY's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Ramos came free, but Martial Celton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcelo Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Lions de Châteauroux getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Bob Chassard hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the game, Youri Richou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lions de Châteauroux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GENY the free kick. Youri Richou kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GENY's Joaquim Massy got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Martial Celton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Youri Richou scored 3-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martial Celton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84th match minute, GENY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armand Réa to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, GENY's Reynaldo Gomes threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jérémie Baudry, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Bob Chassard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions de Châteauroux's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob Chassard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martial Celton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, GENY's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Ramos came free, but Martial Celton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reynaldo Gomes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Modeste Métenier in the 96th minute. Lions de Châteauroux's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
