Drep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yves Sévestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thibaut Hidalgo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samir Le Roux in the 8th minute. Donatien Riguet charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donatien Riguet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of F.C. Challans booed when Drep was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donatien Riguet didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Jean-Pierre Magnet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian Gergaud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Drep's Joffrey Artus got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Drep's Yves Sévestre in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye F.C. Challans's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th minute, Ilan Allio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thibaut Hidalgo. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 28th minute Yves Sévestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian Gergaud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes F.C. Challans got a freekick which was hit by Côme Mourlon. Thibaut Hidalgo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertrand Demol in the 40th minute of play. Thibaut Hidalgo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Drep's Joffrey Artus suffered a sprained foot after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hervé Tétard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samir Le Roux in the 52nd minute of play forced Drep's goalkeeper Thibaut Hidalgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 55th minute of the match Donatien Riguet completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Donatien Riguet a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of F.C. Bertrand Demol helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to F.C. Challans getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Bertrand Demol hit a great ball. Hervé Tétard struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Dorian Gergaud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drep. If Hervé Tétard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Jacquemin hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Yves Sévestre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Dorian Gergaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samir Le Roux in the 75th minute of play forced Drep's goalkeeper Thibaut Hidalgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernand Hernandez hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Challans's zone, Renan Jacquemin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorian Gergaud came out of the goal and Renan Jacquemin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Drep's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because F.C. Challans had won, even though Drep had held more of the ball.
