Pascal Pont's shot from long distance in the 17th minute was not bad at all, but Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Pélicans FC's Anatole Le Lay got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Davy Poirrier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jim Bannatyne made a huge save. Darren Mignot hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The supporters of Saint Côme de Fresné booed when Pélicans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Tono didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascal Pont in the 32nd minute of play forced Pélicans FC's goalkeeper Jim Bannatyne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Davy Poirrier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saint Côme de Fresné's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davy Poirrier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute Pélicans FC were awarded a corner. Bart Anelka went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 41st minute, Pascal Pont got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Stanislas Bagot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Marc-Aurèle Nortier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davy Poirrier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gameiro Lenoble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanislas Bagot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stanislas Bagot's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Gameiro Lenoble skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 65thth minute of the game Marc-Aurèle Nortier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saint Côme de Fresné's Gameiro Lenoble was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pélicans FC's Jim Bannatyne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davy Poirrier in the 66th minute of play. Gameiro Lenoble made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Stanislas Bagot sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Martin Desmars hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Anatole Le Lay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Saint Côme de Fresné getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Cyril Jardin hit a great ball. After 85 minutes, Martin Desmars mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pélicans FC and the Saint Côme de Fresné players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Pélicans FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Desmars to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Davy Poirrier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saint Côme de Fresné's supporters rose to their feet, but Davy Poirrier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Bannatyne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jim Bannatyne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davy Poirrier in the 95th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Bart Anelka got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gameiro Lenoble quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pélicans FC played a much better game than Saint Côme de Fresné and deserved their victory. The Saint Côme de Fresné players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
