A collision led to kirikou fc getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lilian Rivas hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Máximo Decimo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The marseille fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Wawrzyniec Drugi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tubagus Kepa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fotis Kouklakis in the 32nd minute of the match. Hugues Lahousse made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mohamed Lebaillif in the 33rd minute. Tubagus Kepa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureo Toledo in the 41st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Máximo Decimo in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tubagus Kepa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Igor Kovalev to strike the kick off in the second half. When marseille's Máximo Decimo in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye kirikou fc's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, kirikou fc's Tubagus Kepa got control of the ball when Máximo Decimo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Máximo Decimo managed to get in a good position for a shot. marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Máximo Decimo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tubagus Kepa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mohamed Lebaillif had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes kirikou fc got a freekick which was hit by Lilian Rivas. The supporters of kirikou fc booed when marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Byström didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Wawrzyniec Drugi fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored marseille's protests and gave Wawrzyniec Drugi a yellow card for diving instead.
