In the 30thth minute of the game Louis Robart who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ranquet's Yves Davesne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gustave Verot kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Louis Robart had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yves Davesne. Ranquet's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Louis Robart was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Mathieu Oudart struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Franck Delarche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ranquet. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustave Verot to make the kick off.
