After 11 played minutes Algrange got a freekick which was hit by Pascal Ohlmann. After 15 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Antonin Dagorne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonin Dagorne in the 18th minute of play forced Algrange's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonin Dagorne in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Algrange's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dimitri Bougault was slow to take the kick. During this time Herblay's players had a chance to rest. 22 minutes into the game, Noureddine Faivre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Algrange's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herblay the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Noureddine Faivre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Arnaud Konieczny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Algrange's Fabien Barthez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute Dimitri Bougault shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabien Barthez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 53rd minute. Isaiah Simmons replaced Noureddine Faivre. Algrange's Johnny Camus was substituted for Pascal Ohlmann. In the 65th minute, Dimitri Bougault ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabien Barthez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Algrange's Fabien Barthez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Algrange from getting a goal against them. In the 74th match minute, Algrange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmondo Antonangeli to maneuver through the defense. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonin Dagorne, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Ludomil Kajdasz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaiah Simmons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
