After 19 minutes of play, Valette Stars's Saul Eriz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabien Barthez was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Valette Stars's Armand Plaza got a free kick in the 35th minute. Adrien Tanneau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascal Ohlmann in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39thth minute of the game Pascal Ohlmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valette Stars's Adrien Tanneau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adrien Tanneau was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pascal Ohlmann. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half Valette Stars were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillaume Chaine to make the kick off. Valette Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Vidigal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabien Barthez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Saul Eriz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valette Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 59 minutes into the match, Algrange's goal looked a bit too open when Guillaume Chaine came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Vidigal in the 62nd minute of play. After 62 played minutes Algrange got a freekick which was hit by Reynald Bruchon. Algrange's Isaiah Simmons was substituted for Noureddine Faivre. Algrange's Johnny Camus was substituted for Pascal Ohlmann. In the 64th minute, Reynald Bruchon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pau Lopez hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Camus in the 70th minute of play forced Valette Stars's goalkeeper Adrien Tanneau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillaume Chaine didn't have the luck on his side when he, from a short distance, got a opportunity for a shot on goal in the 72nd minute. The shot missed the goal on the right side and Guillaume Chaine ran dejectedly back to his position. A collision led to Valette Stars getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Fabian Walme hit a great ball. Valette Stars's Adrien Tanneau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Laurentzi in the 76th minute of play. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine in the 82nd minute of play. 82 minutes in the game, Guillaume Chaine dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Fabian Walme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Algrange booed when Valette Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Walme didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Algrange supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Valette Stars's performance. The match ended with a win for Valette Stars.
