Spectators: 8600 (Terracing: 6450, Seating: 1978, VIP seats: 172) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cyrille Melon started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Cyrille Melon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John-David Bordet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mihail Toader recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustave Souchu made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Guy Kern sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stanislas Landy in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustave Souchu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 13 minutes R.C. Marseille's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Simão Sampaio who took care of the corner kick. 15 minutes into the match, Marignane's goal looked a bit too open when Mihail Toader came free, but John-David Bordet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanislas Landy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Gustave Souchu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. John-David Bordet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cyprien Auguste, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Mihail Toader kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Marignane's Gustave Souchu threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stanislas Landy, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Simão Sampaio fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marignane's protests and gave Simão Sampaio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Marignane getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Simão Sampaio hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Cyrille Melon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John-David Bordet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulryk Ludwa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustave Souchu came out and tried to block the shot, but Ulryk Ludwa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. R.C. Marseille were furious when Jean-Marc Buisson was red carded, 30 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 29 minutes into the game, one of R.C. Marseille:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 34 minutes into the game, Lüder Herbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marignane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave R.C. Marseille the free kick. Lüder Herbert kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marignane's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renan Bouzat was slow to take the kick. During this time R.C. Marseille's players had a chance to rest. 38 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Ulryk Ludwa came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Cambranes kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stanislas Landy made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Marignane's goalkeeper John-David Bordet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihail Toader. John-David Bordet made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Mihail Toader sent off a good shot on target. If Mihail Toader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 minutes of play, R.C. Marseille's Djibril Mourot made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John-David Bordet was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Marignane getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Simão Sampaio hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Cyprien Auguste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustave Souchu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanislas Landy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Kern in the 83rd minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Souchu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Marignane's John-David Bordet got control of the ball when Djibril Mourot tried to sneak it across the goal line. R.C. Marseille's Renan Bouzat got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustave Souchu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulryk Ludwa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. R.C. Marseille's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Marignane had won, even though R.C. Marseille had held more of the ball.
