When Quentin Welsch fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Breizh Olympik's protests and gave Quentin Welsch a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Breizh Olympik getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Quentin Welsch hit a great ball. R.C. Marseille's Cyrille Melon got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Torsten Abelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Torsten Abelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Souchu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renan Bouzat took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lizbeth Pelegrina. Lizbeth Pelegrina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 18th minute of the match R.C. Marseille got a corner. Breizh Olympik's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Renan Bouzat ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten Abelsson in the 19th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Souchu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Breizh Olympik's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Bouzat came free, but Lizbeth Pelegrina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 28 minutes, Pierre Le Saint managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breizh Olympik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre Le Saint was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Renan Bouzat struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Lizbeth Pelegrina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.C. Marseille. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten Abelsson in the 38th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Souchu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Breizh Olympik's Lizbeth Pelegrina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrille Melon in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's Mihail Toader sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lizbeth Pelegrina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Breizh Olympik got a freekick which was hit by Quentin Welsch. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Le Saint got free with Gustave Souchu in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Breizh Olympik players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. R.C. Marseille were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cyrille Melon to strike the kick off in the second half. Gustave Souchu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torsten Abelsson in the 51st minute of the match. Breizh Olympik's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Germain Guerra in the 52nd minute. The corner led Breizh Olympik's Germain Guerra to fire away a dangerous shot which Gustave Souchu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Torsten Abelsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustave Souchu having to make a save. 59 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Abelsson came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustave Souchu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Le Saint in the 65th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Le Saint came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lizbeth Pelegrina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cyrille Melon in the 72nd minute of the match. After 74 minutes of play, Breizh Olympik's Torsten Abelsson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustave Souchu was left in no man's land by his defense there! R.C. Marseille's Djibril Mourot was substituted for Mihail Toader. In the 78th minute Torsten Abelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Souchu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Djibril Mourot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Torsten Abelsson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Breizh Olympik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torsten Abelsson couldn't finish the play. After having played for 96 minutes, Cyrille Melon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. R.C. Marseille's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cyrille Melon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Despite being the better team, R.C. Marseille failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
