The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Arnbjørn Castilho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Svínáir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnbjørn Castilho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bergur Matras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Símun Fredriksen in the 10th minute of the match. Arnbjørn Castilho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Nolsøe having to interfere. Arnbjørn Castilho in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronnie Nolsøe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bárður Rói Jacobsen charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bárður Rói Jacobsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes nuuk got a freekick which was hit by Bárður Rói Jacobsen. After 20 minutes, Torkil Højsted mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the nuuk and the Svínáir players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, nuuk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torkil Højsted to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Poul Hansen in the 23rd minute of play forced Svínáir's goalkeeper Bergur Matras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Svínáir's goal looked a bit too open when Poul Hansen came free, but Bergur Matras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Símun Fredriksen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bergur Matras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Poul Hansen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bergur Matras was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Poul Hansen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bergur Matras having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Poul Hansen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Jóan Danielsen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 47 minutes, Arnbjørn Castilho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Svínáir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnbjørn Castilho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Poul Hansen made a kick off. If Arnbjørn Castilho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronnie Nolsøe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnbjørn Castilho in the 54th minute of the match. Bergur Matras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Poul Hansen in the 56th minute of play. Ronnie Nolsøe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnbjørn Castilho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Símun Fredriksen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Bergur Matras made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Svínáir's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Símun Fredriksen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Svínáir's Jónhard Norðbúð got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Kristjan Falkenberg sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Svínáir's Bergur Matras didn't even have to move. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind nuuk's goalkeeper Ronnie Nolsøe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnbjørn Castilho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Óli Potemkin in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronnie Nolsøe saved nuuk from getting behind. Jóan Danielsen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronnie Nolsøe having to make a save. If Símun Fredriksen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched nuuk eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
