In the 10th minute Ásbjørn Jacobsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nenad Samuelsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Húsavík ÍF got a freekick which was hit by Nenad Mikkelsen. After having played for 16 minutes, Nenad Mikkelsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Húsavík ÍF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nenad Mikkelsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atli Jónsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nenad Mikkelsen in the 18th minute of play. Nenad Mikkelsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Atli Jónsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Ásbjørn Jacobsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nenad Samuelsen having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Dalur ÍF got a freekick which was hit by Torkil Falkenberg. After having played for 45 minutes, Ásbjørn Jacobsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dalur ÍF 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ásbjørn Jacobsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Húsavík ÍF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rúnar Martin Mortensen to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nenad Mikkelsen was the one to do the kick off. Atli Thomassen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atli Jónsson having to interfere. Dalur ÍF 's Sorin Samuelsen got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65 minutes of play, Dalur ÍF 's Ásbjørn Jacobsen made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nenad Samuelsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Dalur ÍF booed when Húsavík ÍF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pól Rein didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ásbjørn Jacobsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, Húsavík ÍF's goal looked a bit too open when Ásbjørn Jacobsen came free, but Nenad Samuelsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nenad Samuelsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ásbjørn Jacobsen in the 92nd minute of play. Sorin Samuelsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nenad Samuelsen having to interfere. Sorin Samuelsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nenad Samuelsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ásbjørn Jacobsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalur ÍF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Húsavík ÍF for a fine match.
