When Heini Thorleifsson came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Skælingur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heini Thorleifsson couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jón Danielsen during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Skælingur booed when Arsenal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jón Danielsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Heini Thorleifsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Skælingur fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Bergur Færø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute of the match Arsenal FC got a corner. Skælingur's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anderson Davy Sylla ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arsenal FC's John Norðbúð was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Poul Tórgarð in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bergur Færø in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Per av Fløtum saved Arsenal FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Skælingur's Bergur Færø got a free kick in the 39th minute. Skælingur's Poul Tórgarð played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enok Fredriksen in the 41st minute of play. After 42 played minutes Skælingur got a freekick which was hit by Óli Joensen. If Enok Fredriksen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heini Thorleifsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enok Fredriksen in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Poul Tórgarð saved Skælingur from getting behind. If Zsolt Djurhuus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zsolt Djurhuus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Poul Tórgarð having to interfere. Ingi Thomassen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 59 minutes into the match. The referee gave Arsenal FC a penalty, 61 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anderson Davy Sylla, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Skælingur's Poul Tórgarð. 1-2. Bergur Færø could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Per av Fløtum made a huge save. 66 minutes into the game, John Norðbúð was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arsenal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skælingur the free kick. A collision led to Arsenal FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. John Norðbúð hit a great ball. Bergur Færø received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Per av Fløtum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Per av Fløtum, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute of the match Anderson Davy Sylla shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Poul Tórgarð showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bergur Færø struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Per av Fløtum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skælingur. Óli Joensen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jákup Martin úr Hørg's late challenge caught a Skælingur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arsenal FC's Per av Fløtum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Arsenal FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Arsenal FC's Per av Fløtum got control of the ball when Bergur Færø tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Arsenal FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Skælingur were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
