Gargantilla's Ginés Urbina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balesio Mangas in the 19th minute of play. Real Oviedo's Erlantz Marcos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Real Oviedo from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Real Oviedo's Andolin Griful got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute of the match Cristiano Fiore sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erlantz Marcos skillfully saved the ball. Balesio Mangas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ginés Urbina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balesio Mangas in the 30th minute of play forced Gargantilla's goalkeeper Ginés Urbina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cirino Olle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ginés Urbina having to interfere. After some careless play in the Gargantilla defense, Cirino Olle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ginés Urbina. The Gargantilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ginés Urbina should have stopped the shot. Brun Camara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Erlantz Marcos made a huge save. Atauri Sainz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erlantz Marcos having to make a save. A collision led to Real Oviedo getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Bartolomé Revuelta hit a great ball. Atauri Sainz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Erlantz Marcos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bartolomé Revuelta fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Oviedo's protests and gave Bartolomé Revuelta a yellow card for diving instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Cirino Olle made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gargantilla's Alarico Incera got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ginés Urbina was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Chepe Companys. In the 64th match minute, Gargantilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alarico Incera to maneuver through the defense. Brun Camara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erlantz Marcos having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Atauri Sainz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erlantz Marcos. Real Oviedo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Atauri Sainz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Atauri Sainz took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erlantz Marcos. Erlantz Marcos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Montxo Beloki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Balesio Mangas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cirino Olle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 played minutes Gargantilla got a freekick which was hit by Baiardo Ziguenza. Erlantz Marcos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atauri Sainz in the 91st minute of the match. Balesio Mangas struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Ginés Urbina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Oviedo. In the 95th match minute, Gargantilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sol Saez to maneuver through the defense. Ginés Urbina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cirino Olle's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gargantilla had won after a very even match.
