Vancouver Reds's Santana Armada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Saverio Niva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Saverio Niva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santana Armada showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santana Armada was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Saverio Niva made a kick off. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Germany walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
