The CD CANILLAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godfredo Caballero should have stopped the shot. CD CANILLAS's Godfredo Caballero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cirino Olle in the 14th minute of play. When Amarante Abellan came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the CD CANILLAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amarante Abellan couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amarante Abellan made a kick off. 61 minutes into the match, CD CANILLAS's Amarante Abellan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erlantz Marcos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolomé Revuelta charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bartolomé Revuelta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of CD CANILLAS booed when Real Oviedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolomé Revuelta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amarante Abellan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erlantz Marcos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Roland Szily managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD CANILLAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Szily was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erlantz Marcos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amarante Abellan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of CD CANILLAS booed when Real Oviedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Diaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Real Oviedo's zone, Amarante Abellan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erlantz Marcos came out of the goal and Amarante Abellan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roland Szily sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Máté Szűcs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Erlantz Marcos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amarante Abellan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erlantz Marcos having to make a save. The CD CANILLAS fans' excitement grew in the 98th match minute when CD CANILLAS's Amarante Abellan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. CD CANILLAS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
