In the 36th minute Cirilo Dellasierra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chano Gene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Barreiros AD's zone, Dei Mayor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chano Gene came out of the goal and Dei Mayor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 40 minutes of play Barreiros AD's Miliano Sobrado was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 40th match minute, Barreiros AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miliano Sobrado to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
