The goalkeeper, Aristeo Palacios, was totally fooled by Nerga's Feliu Ferrer, who 5 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 15th minute, Gandolfo Zapatero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xusto Carceles hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Rico Arratia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Calvo in the 22nd minute of the match. Cornelio Calvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rico Arratia having to interfere. Aristeo Palacios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodemo Elias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rico Arratia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eli Vazquez in the 27th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Nerga's Gandolfo Zapatero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aristeo Palacios narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Eli Vazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristeo Palacios made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodemo Elias in the 34th minute of play. When Oso Tarin fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Cueva Del Pajaro's protests and gave Oso Tarin a yellow card for diving instead. Aristeo Palacios made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Gandolfo Zapatero sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the match, La Cueva Del Pajaro's goalkeeper Aristeo Palacios had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gandolfo Zapatero. After a defensive mix-up in La Cueva Del Pajaro's zone, Gandolfo Zapatero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aristeo Palacios came out of the goal and Gandolfo Zapatero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Nicodemo Elias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Aristeo Palacios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Eli Vazquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicodemo Elias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristeo Palacios having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nerga fans cheered their team off the field, for while La Cueva Del Pajaro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
