Espanyol's goal looked a bit too open when Mancio Segura came free, but Nicasio Camara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Huercalense FC's Jose-Juan Gala got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Selmo Hidalgo got free with Toño Valverde in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 16 minutes, Francesco Ávila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huercalense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francesco Ávila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benvido Sabina charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benvido Sabina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, RCD. Espanyol's Benvido Sabina got a free kick in the 18th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Locaio Olano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RCD. Espanyol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huercalense FC the free kick. Locaio Olano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Nicasio Camara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Ávila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joanes Macia kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Huercalense FC's Mancio Segura got a free kick in the 28th minute. With a little luck, Huercalense FC's Toño Valverde got control of the ball when Selmo Hidalgo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Huercalense FC's Francesco Ávila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Camara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mancio Segura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicasio Camara having to interfere. Nicasio Camara came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Huercalense FC's Francesco Ávila. But to his dismay, Francesco Ávila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mancio Segura scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicasio Camara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Huercalense FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francesco Ávila stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Huercalense FC's Francesco Ávila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Camara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicasio Camara came out and tried to block the shot, but Francesco Ávila slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute of the match Huercalense FC got a corner. RCD. Espanyol's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xabel Toxeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Francesco Ávila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nicasio Camara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes, Ostadar Herrera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RCD. Espanyol and the Huercalense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, RCD. Espanyol's Ostadar Herrera got a free kick in the 95th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francesco Ávila in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicasio Camara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The RCD. Espanyol fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Huercalense FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
