Antoni Diaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Placido Iniesta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute of the match Ubaldo Jurado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pelayo Planes skillfully saved the ball. Rubén Vacas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pelayo Planes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amado Villanueva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gistain CD's Amado Villanueva in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 31 minutes, Amado Villanueva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gistain CD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amado Villanueva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Rubén Vacas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amado Villanueva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pelayo Planes having to interfere. Amado Villanueva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Pelayo Planes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Amado Villanueva came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Gistain CD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amado Villanueva couldn't finish the play. Rubén Vacas scored 0-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pelayo Planes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adulfo Soldado made a kick off. Pelayo Planes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubén Vacas in the 57th minute of the match. Gistain CD's Amado Villanueva got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th match minute, Gistain CD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincente Ziguenza to maneuver through the defense. If Antoni Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amado Villanueva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute Rubén Vacas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelayo Planes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amado Villanueva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Pelayo Planes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gistain CD's Atilano Villar got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Amado Villanueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pelayo Planes made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Amado Villanueva sent off a good shot on target. Pelayo Planes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubén Vacas in the 98th minute of play.
