With a little luck, Carcabada's Tello Uria got control of the ball when Iratze Ocaña tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 10 played minutes FLANAGAN got a freekick which was hit by Bernal Duran. In the 13th minute, Juan-Alfredo Navarro made a precise shot to the right of Leonel Carro. FLANAGAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Juan-Alfredo Navarro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Leonel Carro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Eliseo Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the FLANAGAN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Toledo couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute, Iratze Ocaña left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FLANAGAN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With an all-out effort, FLANAGAN's Tello Uria threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Toledo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Xabier Dulce scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonel Carro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Juan-Alfredo Navarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan-Alfredo Navarro to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Juan-Alfredo Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Carro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FLANAGAN's Leonel Carro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save FLANAGAN from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute, Xabier Dulce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Jacinto Benedicto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Carro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xabier Dulce in the 62nd minute. After 71 played minutes, Carcabada's Telmo Rubio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonel Carro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carcabada reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iratze Ocaña in the 72nd minute of play forced Carcabada's goalkeeper Tello Uria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Carro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan-Alfredo Navarro in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, FLANAGAN's goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Alfredo Navarro came free, but Leonel Carro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xabier Dulce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Carro having to interfere. A hard shot 87 in the game by Xabier Dulce from a close distance when the talented Leonel Carro managed to make a qualified save. FLANAGAN's players were relieved. Xabier Dulces short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Leonel Carro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Iratze Ocaña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Tello Uria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Xabier Dulce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonel Carro. FLANAGAN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xabier Dulce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When the match was over Carcabada could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FLANAGAN throughout the match.
