Silvano Cabada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. René Pais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Santander CF's René Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oxel Barba in the 13th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Luis-Jose Abellan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. René Pais was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. René Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis-Jose Abellan in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute Oxel Barba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but René Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Berricano's Silvano Cabada made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. René Pais was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aquiles Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Real Santander CF's goal looked a bit too open when Oxel Barba came free, but René Pais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Valentín Soldado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Real Santander CF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Berricano were winning 1-3.

After some careless play in the Berricano defense, Aristeo Vuelta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antxo Castaño. The Berricano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antxo Castaño should have stopped the shot. After 55 played minutes Real Santander CF got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Japón. When Silvano Cabada fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berricano's protests and gave Silvano Cabada a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Silvano Cabada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berricano's Antxo Castaño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristeo Vuelta in the 58th minute of play. Antxo Castaño stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aristeo Vuelta's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristeo Vuelta in the 66th minute of play forced Berricano's goalkeeper Antxo Castaño to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute Aristeo Vuelta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antxo Castaño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquiles Suarez was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 69 played minutes Real Santander CF got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Suarez. Silvano Cabada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Real Santander CF got a freekick which was hit by Ivón Fresnos. When Pascal Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Berricano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Fernandez couldn't finish the play. Real Santander CF's Aristeo Vuelta got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aristeo Vuelta came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Real Santander CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristeo Vuelta couldn't finish the play. When Real Santander CF's Aristeo Vuelta in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Berricano's goalie prevented a goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
