Rayo Benaguasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ontigola the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rayo Benaguasil's Benvido Valerón got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ontigola's Ursino Herrero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Ontigola from getting a goal against them. In the 27th match minute, Rayo Benaguasil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agusti Amorebieta to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Rayo Benaguasil defense, Leonides Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Sevilla. The Rayo Benaguasil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Sevilla should have stopped the shot. In the 39th minute of the match Oliverio Bergada sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Igor Sevilla skillfully saved the ball. Elisardo Vagrandes short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Ursino Herrero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elisardo Vagrande was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Ontigola's goal looked a bit too open when Elisardo Vagrande came free, but Ursino Herrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rayo Benaguasil getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Elisardo Vagrande hit a great ball. Igor Sevilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Velasco in the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rayo Benaguasil's Benvido Valerón got a free kick in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rayo Benaguasil's zone, Leonides Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Sevilla came out of the goal and Leonides Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ontigola booed when Rayo Benaguasil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agusti Amorebieta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elisardo Vagrande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elisardo Vagrande in the 72nd minute of play forced Ontigola's goalkeeper Ursino Herrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rayo Benaguasil's Elisardo Vagrande in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rayo Benaguasil's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Leonides Velasco scored to the left of an out of position Igor Sevilla, making the score, 0-2. 86 minutes into the match, Ontigola's goal looked a bit too open when Elisardo Vagrande came free, but Ursino Herrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 88th minute of the match Benvido Valerón completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Benvido Valerón a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Baraquiel Landa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Igor Sevilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Ontigola were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Rayo Benaguasil side.
