The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caitano Vega during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Palencia C.F.'s Caitano Vega got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Cesario Maestro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Los Payos culeones 's Bermudo Vuelta quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Faustino Tobias made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Peyo Encina sent off a good shot on target. Los Payos culeones 's Eduardo Marines got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Marines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustino Tobias having to interfere. Peyo Encina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Palencia C.F.'s zone, Kostas Rodopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustino Tobias came out of the goal and Kostas Rodopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Palencia C.F.'s Cesario Maestro got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Faustino Tobias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Kostas Rodopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Payos culeones 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kostas Rodopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Faustino Tobias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Los Payos culeones 's Efraim Villacis got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Marines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Faustino Tobias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peyo Encina fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 90th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. After having played for 92 minutes, Peyo Encina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Payos culeones 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peyo Encina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Peyo Encina came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Los Payos culeones fans jumped to their feet. Although Los Payos culeones had been in control for most of the match, Palencia C.F. still came away with the win.
