Blanco Elgueros short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Rosalio Noya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Luis-Alfredo Jurado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monte Alto AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis-Alfredo Jurado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosalio Noya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cordareo Marin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blanco Elguero got free with Rosalio Noya in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Millano Barro's late challenge caught a Monte Alto AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Millano Barro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Valchillon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Millano Barro to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Blanco Elguero made a kick off. Monte Alto AFC's Velasco Acosta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rosalio Noya in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Alex Mendez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 56 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cordareo Marin was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 59th minute Alex Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordareo Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Blanco Elguero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rosalio Noya. Valchillon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Blanco Elguero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. When Toño Turrilla fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valchillon's protests and gave Toño Turrilla a yellow card for diving instead.
