Spectators: 7213 (Terracing: 5411, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pirro Dagora started the match with the kick off. Timo Soler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Doblas in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Santander's zone, Martín Doblas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timo Soler came out of the goal and Martín Doblas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Esperta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timo Soler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Timo Soler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Doblas in the 14th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Santander defense, Hugo Esperta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timo Soler. The Santander fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timo Soler should have stopped the shot. Fidel Romero came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Federico Zabalo could save by the left post. When Baudelio Lillo fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santander's protests and gave Baudelio Lillo a yellow card for diving instead. Baudelio Lillo hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 28th match minute, Santander was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baudelio Lillo to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Domenech Pacheco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timo Soler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Timo Soler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Doblas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pirro Dagora received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Federico Zabalo came out and tried to block the shot, but Pirro Dagora slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Santander's zone, Estebano Mezquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timo Soler came out of the goal and Estebano Mezquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Martín Doblas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Esperta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Timo Soler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pirro Dagora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Zabalo having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Esperta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colsa's goalkeeper Federico Zabalo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Esperta in the 54th minute of play forced Santander's goalkeeper Timo Soler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pirro Dagora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pirro Dagora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Colsa defense, Fidel Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Federico Zabalo. The Colsa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Federico Zabalo should have stopped the shot. Pirro Dagora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Zabalo having to interfere. Martín Doblas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Santander getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Rufo Palomares hit a great ball. Fidel Romero struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Federico Zabalo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santander. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Santander had won after a very even match.
