With a left leg Oliviero Babia saved Rayo Vallirana from getting behind. Perico Portillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Prospero Silvanito came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Olympique de Orihuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Prospero Silvanito couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Rayo Vallirana getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Constantino Domenech hit a great ball. Perico Portillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Prospero Silvanito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Prospero Silvanito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oliviero Babia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
