Spectators: 6682 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1682, VIP seats: 0) Anatoliy Voronov started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute, Almenar's Lekumberri De la Torre ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vitin Vazquez. Vitin Vazquez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Pancho Saura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Carreira having to interfere. After some careless play in the Almenar defense, Anatoliy Voronov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Carreira. The Almenar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Carreira should have stopped the shot. Pedro Carreira came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Rostov FC's Anatoliy Voronov. But to his dismay, Anatoliy Voronov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a little luck, Rostov FC's Vitin Vazquez got control of the ball when Eutropio Guerrero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ulises Sobrado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rostov FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! Luis Abad shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 26 minutes into the match, Silvino Gómez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vitin Vazquez, 2-2. In the 29th match minute, Rostov FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pancho Saura to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvino Gómez in the 31st minute of play forced Rostov FC's goalkeeper Vitin Vazquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Anatoliy Voronov made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Carreira. Almenar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Silvino Gómez took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitin Vazquez. Vitin Vazquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. In the 47th minute, Silvino Gómez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 3-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvino Gómez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Eutropio Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitin Vazquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitin Vazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Macho, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anatoliy Voronov in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Carreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vitin Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lekumberri De la Torre in the 59th minute of the match. Vitin Vazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvino Gómez in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Rostov FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Macho came free, but Vitin Vazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Almenar's Eutropio Guerrero in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rostov FC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Almenar getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Arnulfo Macho hit a great ball. If Anatoliy Voronov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Arnulfo Macho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Vitin Vazquez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vitin Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eutropio Guerrero in the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Almenar's zone, Anatoliy Voronov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Carreira came out of the goal and Anatoliy Voronov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rostov FC's Vitin Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eutropio Guerrero in the 81st minute of play. The audience cheered loudly when Lazaro Morientes's long shot in the 85th minute became 4-5 when the ball went to the left of and passed Pedro Carreira. Anatoliy Voronov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Pedro Carreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Rostov FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rostov FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
