Eskuin Cambero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vigil Raya's late challenge caught a Anieves's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vigil Raya helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute of the match Belarmo Dellasierra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vincente Dorado skillfully saved the ball. Anieves's Eskuin Cambero got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaibor's goalkeeper Vincente Dorado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlomagno Mezquita in the 27th minute of play forced Gaibor's goalkeeper Vincente Dorado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vincente Dorado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eskuin Cambero in the 28th minute of the match. Gaibor's Vincente Dorado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eskuin Cambero in the 30th minute of play. Vincente Dorado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlomagno Mezquita in the 33rd minute of play. Vincente Dorado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Vincente Dorado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eskuin Cambero's shot from short distance in the 41st minute.

The wind increased when Amador Romero made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Michel Campos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gaibor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anieves the free kick. Michel Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Iago Bouzon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaibor's supporters rose to their feet, but Iago Bouzon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donatello Galego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donatello Galego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amador Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amador Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Donatello Galego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gaibor booed when Anieves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belarmo Dellasierra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee gave Vigil Raya a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 94 played minutes Gaibor got a freekick which was hit by Vigil Raya. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Anieves walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
