Jerrold Laredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillen Palencia in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Racing ferrol S.A.D.'s Ariando Rivera dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The supporters of Empuria Brava booed when Racing ferrol S.A.D. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelmiro Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerrold Laredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillen Palencia, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute, Cesario Lagunas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ariando Rivera took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinicio Dorado. Vinicio Dorado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 43rd minute, Ariando Rivera fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ariando Rivera made the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Zavier Marcilla in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Racing ferrol S.A.D.'s Marquez Guijarro. When Marquez Guijarro came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Racing ferrol S.A.D. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquez Guijarro couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Gelmiro Reyes notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Empuria Brava's Vinicio Dorado. Vinicio Dorado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th match minute, Racing ferrol S.A.D. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Quintas to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Salbatore Blanco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jerrold Laredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mancio Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinicio Dorado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariando Rivera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing ferrol S.A.D.'s Ariando Rivera got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gelmiro Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Vinicio Dorado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ariando Rivera in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinicio Dorado saved Empuria Brava from getting behind. After having played for 70 minutes, Marquez Guijarro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing ferrol S.A.D.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marquez Guijarro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vinicio Dorado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ariando Rivera's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Empuria Brava's Vinicio Dorado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ariando Rivera in the 74th minute of play. Gelmiro Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Vinicio Dorado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ariando Rivera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinicio Dorado was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Racing ferrol S.A.D. had played much better football throughout.
