The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Juan Novo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sant Lluis UD's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Novo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marciano Zapata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 played minutes Sant Lluis UD got a freekick which was hit by Behe Ballesteros. Etxeberri Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víctor Portillo in the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Tito Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sant Lluis UD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carral the free kick. In the 46th minute, Ion Urquijo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sant Lluis UD's Etxeberri Sánchez didn't even have to move. Etxeberri Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víctor Portillo in the 48th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Novo made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Sant Lluis UD got a freekick which was hit by Juan Novo. Henry Pabon hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Tito Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cordeal Leyva hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 64 played minutes Carral got a freekick which was hit by Elazar Segarra. Juan Novo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Novo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Marciano Zapata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Juan Novo came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Sant Lluis UD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Novo couldn't finish the play. Marciano Zapata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Novo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sant Lluis UD's Luciano Morera got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carral's Marciano Zapata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Morera in the 86th minute of play. Luciano Morera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marciano Zapata having to interfere.
