When the match had been going on for 30 minutes, Cuartillo FC's Tebaldo Montaña got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Richie Izaguirre. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 52 played minutes Fuente San Luis FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Llorca. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilabert Llorca in the 53rd minute of play forced Fuente San Luis FC's goalkeeper Richie Izaguirre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fuente San Luis FC's zone, Gilabert Llorca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cuartillo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eneko Macías was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 71 minutes into the game, Higinio Candamil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eneko Macías couldn't finish the play. Fuente San Luis FC's Cordareo Lozano got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
